Dr. Chin-Newman currently serves as the Chair of the Academic Senate at Cal State East Bay. She also co-leads the Disability Justice Working Group, and is a founding member of the Center for Disability Justice Research: Health Equity, Education and Creativity. She formerly served as the Diversity and Equity Liaison Officer (an elected faculty position).
Dr. Chin-Newman is interested in creativity and the arts, especially the arts and social relationships, youth arts participation, and inclusive performance. She also conducts research on social support and college student success, recently focusing on students with learning differences or any type of disability.
