Cell phones should be on silent mode at all times during class. They should only be used for communication for emergencies or documented disabilities with approval from the University's Accessibility Services. Students using cell phones for purposes other than these will be asked to leave the class meeting for the remainder of the day's session.
Recording class is allowed only when permitted by Accessibility Services Office.

It is expected that students will arrive to class on time and be prepared to discuss the assigned material. Tardiness and/or absences will likely result in the loss of participation points. Students will be expected to treat classmates and instructors with respect and understanding. Students should refrain from carrying on unnecessary, disruptive, or inappropriate side conversations during lecture or discussion. Disagreements can occur in scholarly discussions—such disagreements and debates can be fruitful learning opportunities when they are undertaken in a respectful and calm manner.
Students are permitted to use laptops or tablets in this course, but must be respectful of your classmates. If students are browsing the Internet, playing games, or watching videos during class, it will distract the instructor and classmates and disrupt the learning process and experience.
Students should refrain from using cellphones during class unless for approved purposes. Unauthorized use of cellphones during class—including texting—will result in the dismissal of the student from the session and loss of participation points for the day.
